Term 4
AUSLAN:
Foundation: Students will learn how to introduce themselves and ask someone else what their name is. They will also learn numbers and how to tell someone how old they are.
Year 1/2: Will be building their sign repertoire to include more complex weather sentences which include a time frame and action and more food signs. They will also be expanding their Auslan number knowledge.
Physical Education:
Students will be working on collaborating with others in small group and team activities in Cricket and Tennis. We will also be looking at healthy and safe behaviours as part of the Health Curriculum.
Foundation to Year 2 will be learning about making healthy food choices and keeping ourselves and others safe.
Years 3 - 6 will be setting “Green Time Goals” to understand the importance of balancing our sedentary and active behaviours.
STEM:
The whole school will be focusing on Sustainability, in particular recycling and composting.
Years F - 2: Will be learning how to sort recycling and how to compost correctly. As well as help run the whole school composting project.
Years 3-6: Will be leading the whole school composting project, and using their design skills to create projects based around Sustainability and Composting.
Visual Art:
This term, we will be working on the following in Visual Arts:
Foundation: Will design and create personalised fabric squares for the class banner using painting, textiles, and craft techniques, ending with Christmas-themed artwork.
Year 1/2: Will learn basic sewing and textile techniques, painting, and craft, while exploring creativity through open-ended art projects
Year 3/4: Will complete fabric mâché containers, then move on to decoupage and create artworks using sewing and textile skills.
Year 5/6: Will use some advanced sewing and textile skills; Year 6 students design and sew Graduation Pillows, while Year 5 students create and sew felt characters or objects.
